Please join us May 30 and 31 for Great Birding all day long in the natural environment of Washington, Rock and Plum islands at the tip of Door County, Wisconsin. We are expanding our Bird Studies to include additional islands in Lake Michigan/Green Bay, hence the name change of the Festival from Washington Island to Door Islands Bird Festival. View or download the Festival program and registration form, and view other information via with the links at the end of this page. |

Special Festival Events In addition to early and late birding and island-hopping, we will feature two other special programs: Marge Gibson, director of the Raptor Education Group Inc (REGI) will speak to us on Wild Owls. Marge has worked with the California Condor Recovery Team and the Bald Eagle Capture and Health Assessment Project in Valdez , AK after the Exxon spill. She founded and directs REGI which rehabilitates large birds and provides bird education. Our 2008 speaker, Pat Ready of Madison Audubon and the Bluebird Association of Wisconsin, will offer a bird photography session with explanations of his equipment, how to find birds and nests through the lens, and how to get that special shot. |
